After seeing absolutlty noresponse from the being standing just outside the light, one would think that he was either blatantly ignoring the girl, or that he just couldn't hear her. However, that was not the case. Face shadowed by his hair, Kurama was stony faced.
He could physically feel his fangs elongate ever so slightly in his mouth. Other than that, no other parts of his body moved, and his face contorted into stone. "And what do you mean by that." His tone was pure ice, and if it was used on a battlefield, most cowardly demons would've soiled their pants. Because at this point, te legendary theif was downright deadly.
'How dare this insignificant little wretch talk of Shiori!' The Youko part of him shouted, having created a strong bond with the frail human mother. Kurama wasn't exactly sure of what this girl meant by it, and if it was a threatning gesture than she was going to have a plant sprouting from her jugular before she could beg for mercy.

So...it was true then. Demons could love.
Kyra didn't seem to be alarmed by his sudden unacted hostility. If anything, she felt justified. No doubt this demon would snap her in half if she went on to say something that could be taken as a danger to his mother or...whoever he was thinking of. It was comendable. But at the same time...so very strange. She looked over at him, his body ridged and the tension radiated off him like a scent.
It made her...feel better...She wasn't in the presence of the trash that had been every demon she'd ever known.
But he still didn't understand. How could he?
She looked back forward, and sighed. "Not everyone has an S class demon ready to do violence on their behalf..." Kyra said, her tone low and soaked in remorse, remembering a familiar face as it and its casket were lowered into its grave. "If someone came and knocked on her door with a known psychopath with them, saying this person had "changed" and was going to live with her, alone and unsupervised, whether she liked it or not...It wouldn't happen, would it?" Her hands drifted off the chains and down to her lap as tears accumulated in the rims of her eyes, and she turned her head away to hide it. "But what if there was nothing you could do..."
That was the situation here. If these demons came here because they were being picked on then why the heck did they open the barrier for the stronger ones to come? Strong demons don't get picked on. And if they were, strong demons could create a place within their world that could become a haven. Why? Because they could protect it, and they could protect the weaker demons who wanted to live there. Humans couldn't protect themselves. At all.
"It wouldn't be 'perfectly acceptable' to you then..."

After it was clear that this girl wasn't A, threatening Shiori or B, going to piss herself and run screaming (which amused him every time), he relaxed, but the fangs in his mouth still stayed slightly longer than a humans. Looking up lightly he would never give reference to his mother like that, but in her eyes, Kurama guessed that it would feel like that to humans. Although, if they had ever actually been to and lived in demon world, they probably wouldn't be so cruel to those demons who did come here for safety.
When she started to cry, it didn't bother him. Obviously something had happened in her past which left her emotionally sensitive to demons coming into the Ningenkai. From what she had said he accustomed it to a demon attacking a family member or friend which probably ultimately led to her becoming a Demon Hunter.
But that was only analyzing her actions.
Kurama didn't move forward to comfort her, knowing that it wouldn't help and would only make it worse. It would like getting mauled by a dog and getting comforted by a pitbull. A harsh wind tore through the area and made his hair whip around his face, and the unoccupied swing next to Atrox move to and fro. It was exceptionally chilly tonight, and it seemed like rain clouds were moving over head. He could smell the rain coming.

Keeping her eyes locked on the skyline in the opposite direction of him, Kyra tried forcing her tears to recede. He had nothing to say. Because there was nothing to say...or because he didn't care? Either way...wouldn't surprise her. Perhaps the stakes were still too high for either side to loosen their grip on the only slice of bread on the table, fearing there would be no more. Kurama was for the sad demon's having it, Atrox was for the defenseless humans. And neither of them were yet comfortable enough for their minds to split it down the middle. Or perhaps love wasn't something they all lacked, just empathy. His valuables were secure.
Kyra shivered, but not from the cold.
Her senses spiked suddenly, eyes jumping to a nearby warehouse that had long sense been shut down.
A blood curdling scream split the air from inside.
Kyra shot forward, swing flailing, as she drew her weapon. It looked like a handgun, but anyone with the least bit of spirit awareness could tell you it was not. Her attention was sliced in half, directed to the building and the demon behind her, suddenly wondering if this was some kind of set up. Kyra had lead him here, true, but it didn't necessarily mean anything.

Kurama watched as the tears ceased to fall on the girls face, leaning against the pole and his light jacket fluttering in the wind. Kurama smelled the stench of Demon World before the shriek sound. Both he and Atrox began to sprint towards the sound, and Kurama ran ahead of the girl, his sneakers making minimum sound on the pavement.
Stopping in front of an abandoned (Or so was thought) warehouse, Kurama gave a look around. There were the main doors, which were too large and would create a fair amount of noise and attention. Looking around, he saw a small back door (with an array of locks) up a flight of stairs. Looking up, he spotted a small, glassless window on about the same level. "You go up to that door, and I'll unlock it from the inside. He whispered to Atrox, motioning at the door. Not waiting for a response, he crouched on the ground, muscles tensing.
Springing up nearly 20 feet, Kurama caught the ledge of the window and swung himself inside, landing silently on an iron walkway attached to the wall. 'Good. I'm not getting rusty.' Years of Youko Kurama theiving made this entry much too easy. Looking over the ledge, he saw demons - and by the smell they were fresh from over the border. Turning away, he walked to the door and inspected the security measures. Kurama gave a small tug on the door and found resistance as the lock was engaged.
But not for long.
He covered the lock from sight and stepped back a moment later, the lock disengaged. He silently opened the door about half a foot, and looked out at Atrox, motioning for her to be silent and follow him inside.
(/OOC:Lol sprry, I felt like a whole flip-through-the-window thing was in order >.< \)

At being passed, Atrox slowed down a hair to see if anything would happen upon his arrival at the building. But it was only a little; time was precious for someone inside.
"You go up to that door, and I'll unlock it from the inside."
She nodded.
If he were going to do something to her, he wouldn't need all this.
It took her a little longer to get up the metal stairs in a silent fashion than it would've normally - there was a reason ninjas didn't wear stilettos. But once she did she followed the demon inside with senses on high alert, moving just close enough to the rail to peer over at the group collected below.
"Heheheh, that's sick..." A demon chuckled from inside the body of a little girl that looked to be about 12, spiritual horns visible over her curly blond hair. "I can't believe you prefer the older ones."
Muffled crying came from the other two humans, tied to a iron support beam with dirty rags wrapped around their faces and through their mouths to keep them quiet.
"Yeah, a little too fatty for my taste." A second demon responded, his long fangs visible behind smiling, scaly lips.
In the center of the room a demon was hunched over something, a gorging sound coming from his mouth and the rusty scent of blood was thick in the air. It was the body of an elderly lady, dead and half eaten, though her eyes were still wide in terrior.
The book-keeper.
Atrox' heart sank to the bottom of her soles. "No..." Not her.
Rage crawled over her shoulders like the cold, white hand of death, lip rising in a ruthless snarl. She lifted her weapon.

His Youko part rolled his eyes at the irony. Not only had the woman warned them and got herself caught up, but they had actually came running towards the very thing she had warned about! Kurama could sense the anger rolling off the girl in vicious waves, but he held out an ar to stop her, connecting his green eyes with hers. He motined her to look out at a corner, where she would be pleasantly surprised.
Because the warehouse had been abandoned, there was a numerous amount of cracks running through the concrete floor, and a few small weeds ad managed to survive where windows would provide enough light for them to grow. And now, a small sprout of grass squirmed and started creeping across the floor towards the group of demons. Then, he removed his arm previously used to stop her and stepped back. He bowed lightly at the waist and held his hands out in the classic pose of, 'ladies first.'

Those dark eyes snapped to his as Kurama's arm came up and for a split second there you'd almost think she was going to shoot him. Kyra wouldn't've of course, but she was in rare form right now.
Frowning, she followed his gaze down to the corner of the warehouse where the plants were crawling toward the unsuspecting man eaters. She lowered a brow, questioningly, but only before she looked back at him.
That's right...he was the plant guru.
The cracks in her weapon beginning to glow.
-POW-
The possessed little girl fell to the floor, screaming bloody murder and writhing around. Atrox had taken no time to find some stairs and had been halfway down when she fired, now aiming a different gun-like-thing at the others as she continued down.
"What the--"
"Mikie!" The other demons whirled, snarling faces fixed on her. "Who the hell are--"
"I suggest you coroperate." Kyra seethed, voice calmer than was healthy for the amount of anger this girl had barreled up. "Unless you want to be plant food."
The demon came out of the little girl and was now laying on the floor beside her, babbling about how he couldn't use any of his powers. This only set the others more on edge.
"Heh, was that supposed to be clever?" One of them laughed, "You shouldn't have blown your cover little human; we can outrun any kind of man made projectile when we know where it's coming from, fool."
Kyra watched the plant coming up behind him, ready for Kurama's magic to take them by surprise before she'd shoot again and let all heck break loose...assuming Kurama's magic didn't take them all out in itself. "You'd just better follow through..." She thought with a glance Kurama's way. All her eggs weren't in his basket, no. But she was putting a lot of faith in him.

Kurama simply perched on the walkway's railing, looking down at the bloodied demons in obvious distaste. He held his hand out, and with a flick of his fingers the grass shot forward and impaled the demons through the stomach and with a gush of blood, the grass began to encase them in a green cocoon of grass, soon beginning to drip trails of blood.
The two offenders now reduced to little more than a pile of squirming green bundles, Kurama leapt and landed lightly next to the girl, a hand flicking through his hair for a seed. Tossing a light brown seed to the ground, it sprouted and with a pulse of energy, a mouth formed and it began to gulp down the remains of the two demons. Glancing around, he spotted a dusty black tarp bunched in a corner, and retrieved it to cover the mess made by the rogue demons.
"You free the two adults, I'll deal with the child." H said softly, knowing that Atrox was probably still raging at the two deceased youkai.the plant which had eaten the corpses rubbed against his leg before he reached down and picked it up - shrinking it back into a harmless seed.
Crouching down next to the small girl, he was slightly disgusted that the demon had posessed a girl of only about 12. Twisted really. He placed a hand on the girls shoulder, and shook her slightly, trying to rouse her from unconciousness. Kurama was rewarded, with a soft groan and fearful brown eyes glancing every which way. When they settled on him, she gave a questioning look and sat up, a hand coming to her forehead. "W-what happened?"
Good, she didn't remember.

The two men squirmed in their bindings and the muffled sounds they made were those of stress and absolute joy, especially as Atrox made their way to them. ”It’s alright guys.” She said with a soothing tone as she untied them, ”Everything’s going to be okay.”
The older one, looking to be in his early forties, immediately scrambled to his feet and ran to where Kurama and the little girl were. ”Panu!” He cried, dropping to his knees and wrapping the girl in a tight embrace. ”…Are you alright?!”
The girl looked confused and suddenly fearful, upset to see her dad act so hysterical. ”I’m f-fine, Daddy…” She pulled back, looking to Kurama, then back to him, ”…What’s wrong?”
The man looked up at Kurama at last, studying him. ”Thank you.” He said with a nod. It was obvious he didn’t often. ”For saving my little girl…”
Not to mention himself.
Atrox smiled from her place near the post, how ever small and bitter it was. She glanced at the tarp covering where the book keeper’s remains would’ve been. If only they’d known sooner…
”Bloody good show, naz.” The second man broke her from her thoughts as he threw his arm around her shoulder, grinning. He reeked of alcohol. ”One minute I ‘erz drowneding my rat, next’n this little sheela got me follow’n her ta’ find ’er lost puppy.” He threw his arm up clumsily as he gestured to the girl. ”Next’n folks is eatin’ folks n’…get eat by de’ weed…“ He hiccupped. “I‘ll never smoke you again, weed…” He seemed to lose his train of thought so he grinned down at Atrox, ”Yer’ perdy.”
Kyra giggled uncomfortably as she tried to squirm away, fake smile vanishing as her face turned to Kurama and mouthed the word “help”.

Kurama moved out of the way in order to let ther man hug his daughter, and simply gave a 'your welcome' to his thanks. Looking back over at Atrox, he found himself somewhat annoyed with the man babbling on about his habits. Standing, he walked over to where the girl and the drunken human stood,
"Excuse Me"
He put a hand on Atrox's shoulder and pulled her lightly back to his side, before stepping on and in front of her - closer to the drunk than what he would've liked.
"I don't believe that is the proper way to thank your saviour, but I suppose you wont remember a thing of this in the morning."
Kurama knew that if he was still this intoxicated even after being deprived of the slcohol for some while, he most likely would find an alley and pass out, not remembering anything before 7 PM.
Putting a hand on the mans shoulder, he led him to the main warehouse doors and pulled the door to the side, opening it to the night air.
"Why dont you head home. You must be tired, because after that entire bag of weed you smoked, that must have been one weird dream you had!" Kurama stated, patting the man on the back. THe man blinked and muttered an agreement before stumbling off into the night leaving a scent of whiskey and sake behind him.

Kyra looked thankful when Kurama rescued her from the intoxicated 20 year old. You would too. She couldn't help from grin though as he escorted the man to the door. Well...you got to save the ones you can save, she supposed.
Laughing, she came to stand beside Kurama as the man stumbled off into the night. "You have a way with the riff raff." She teased lightly, feeling slightly better. They'd saved at least three...lost one...but...perhaps you could only ask for so much in this game. "You can't save them all." She remembered one of her old teachers scolding her after doing something reckless in attempts to do just that. It was strange that it had been a demon to help her...but..."But you're not so bad, huh?" She said after a moment, looking at him warmly. Kyra didn't know the half of who he was. But even if he were...really bad...he'd had so many chances to make this go south; he never did. That had to account for something.
She turned to look at the father who was patting down his daughter and double-checking for injuries. "It's late." She continued. "You should go home and get some rest; I'll take care of the rest of this." She felt like they were fortunate he'd helped them this much; it wasn't right to expect him to do anything more. "Thank you."

Kurama simply returned the smile he was given, and nodded in response to her compliment. "It's no problem, It's somewhat like my Job at this point."
He turned, and looked back at the two still sitting on the floor.
"And it's no problem, I'll stay and help out."
Walking over to the two people, he crouched down next to them and gave a polite smile. "How are you guys feeling, are both of you okay?"
Kurama figured it was the best way to know if there were any injuries, although he didn't see any. And he knew that the girl would be exhausted because of being controlled. He came off as polite and helpful, and gave a polite smile as he asked.
"I'm Shuichi by the way, can I help you guys out anyway? Maybe call someone to come get you?"

Tilting her head thoughtfully, Atrox turned to watch him return to the other two. She clipped her holster and allowed her jacket to fall back over her hip and hide it, following slowly after a moment. They would soon be asking what this was all about. That was usually when Kyra made her leave. She didn't like to lie to them, especially since she now knew that demons were allowed to freely come here in the spirit world's hopes of everyone learning to "get along". But if people started to really catch on there would be mass panic and, eventually, there'd probably be some form of military action. In the mean time, these two would be considered crazy and live in fear for the rest of their lives. To Kyra, knowing and living in fear was much better than not. But perhaps the experience itself would make them both, especially dad, much more careful from here on out - whether or not they knew their enemy.
She sighed and came to stand nearby.
"I'm Nomoro Renki, this is my daughter Panu." The father said, still shaken by the whole situation as he glanced down at his daughter who was leaning against him in his hold, eyes half closed. "I think...we're alright. I just called my brother to come pick us up. I was going to call the police too...but..." He glanced over at the scene a few yards away. "I wasn't too sure what to tell them."
Looking at Shuichi, he asked, "Are there any more of those things? What were they?"
Ah, here we go. Atrox's silence left the decision to Kurama. The human had directed the question to him, anyway.

"What were those things?"
Kurama gave a smile to Nomoro's questions, and ran a hand through his hair, giving them an appearance that it meant nothing. However, he raised his hand, and inclosed in it was a somewhat large flower with a multitude of bright and swirling reds and oranges. The kitsune took a breath, breathing slowly onto it and a plume of light orange colored pollen rose and descended over the two in a cloud of dust.
Nomoro and Panu's eyes instantly succumbed to the affect of the flower, and fell into a glassy-eyed slump, and Kurama instantly leaned forward to catch Panu who was about to fall ono the floor, tucking the flower back into his hair as a light yellow seed.
He laid her down onto the floor, and repeated the process for Nomoro. Emerald eyes glanced back briefly at Atrox, ready to explain his actions.
"It's a plant where the flowers pollen has an effect of amnesia - and you can wait for them to wake up and fill up the empty space in the memory withanything you want. Usually something non-demon related." He turned back to the dazed humans, waiting patiently for the two to wake up.
