"No, no... I am fine," Seido said. However, he just let her do what she was doing. When the pant leg brushed against the bruise he winced. It was just a bruise, he kept telling himself. It will be there for a week then you'll be perfectly fine.
He leaned back on one arm and laughed as she made fun of his bruise. It must be really bad then. Good thing he didn't fall on his knee or else he would probably have a nice crack in his knee. "That's normal for us humans," he said smiling. "Do demons not bleed?"

"But this isn't bleeding." She said as she tried to figure out what he meant. She had never been hurt in a way that would cause a bruise. The only time she had ever had so much as a scrape on her was when her wing was taken.
Kotone put a hand to her back. the scar tissue stretched and caused a little bit of pain as it did. "Demons bleed..." She informed her host as her general mood fell. She turned around so that she could get her emotions under her control again.
This meant of course that Seido now had a clear view of the large ugly scar that ran parallel to her wing. It was a large mass of scar tissue on her shoulder blade even though it had happened years ago it was still red and angry looking. The tissue was stretched over the top as if her body thought it was unnatural for it to ave to completely cover over the spot.

Has she never bruised before? He wasn't sure if that meant she was lucky or not. After all, as a child bruising was a way of life. Everyone ran around, playing tag, hide and seek, falling from trees. It was almost just as likely for kids to have had a broken bone. That, he was lucky, he had not broken anything yet. Yet...
His hand reached up and gently ran his fingers over the scar. It had to be hard for her. It would be just the same as if he lost a limb, or even a sense. She now could never fly. It would have been an amazing sight. It would be like seeing an angel. But, he wouldn't have seen it anyway. If she didn't loose her wing, she wouldn't be here living with him.
The edge of the scar hid itself under her halter top. His fingers brushed against the top hem of her outfit. It was quiet the outfit to be wearing. "You look amazing," he said trying to cheer her up with the truth.

She almost jumped in surprise when he touched her scar. Nobody but her had touched it since she wasn't dieing anymore. Her father hated to look at it let alone touch it and when she was little and the maid helped her bathe or dress she was always careful to avoid it. It was nice though. It felt like he was comforting it.
She blushed at his comment but there was a pleased smile that crept on to her features. "Thank you. It feels very strange though. I'm not used to so much of me being uncovered. You see it was my moms and i thought maybe it would bring me some luck." She blushed again at her own foolishness.
"It sounds a little stupid I know...."

"Well... It worked "didn't it?" He smiled more and continued to run his fingers over the scar. After all, it seemed that she liked it. And he judged that by the fact she hasn't pulled away yet, unkindly or not.
"If only we could lose that trench coat," Seido laughed. Hopefully this wasn't going to send them down the wrong path. But she was the one to joke around anyway.

The winged girl laughed. "I know I hate it. But I didn't want to send random people on the street in to a painic." THe wing that still exsisted fluttered slightly and she turned back around. The smile was still on her face.
"Good thing your not a random person on the street." she teased. "Oh hows your knee?"

Random people into panic. Well, it is too bad that they didn't send that one man that nearly ran her over into panic, but that would probably take someone's life. He laughed none the less. Till it came to her saying he wasn't a random person off the street. It was amazing how well understanding works in this world. Just listening to whatever is said and not panicking. It should be a law because it would help reduce crime tenfold.
"It will be fine. Just sore for a while." He smiled and stood up. It hurt a bit to stand, but he wold be over it in a bit.

"Oh that's good. I was afraid that you were seriously hurt." She was still cheerfully though. "So how much longer is it until your apartment?"
This she had asked out of sheer curiosity not out of wanting to get there sooner or being tired. But she was wondering what kind of a place Seido would live in. And then there was still the matter of giving her father a call.....
She let out a small sigh. "I really worried him huh?"

Hopefully the apartment wasn't too far. He didn't really want to be walking around with a bruised knee for far too long. He'll have to deal with it at work tomorrow though. He will not be looking forward to court for the next few days. Seido laughed at himself as he was complaining more then she was and this was his idea.
The detective looked up at the stairwell and found the floor they were on. "Just two more flights." Again they started moving forward, he was trying not to limp.
"Very I would say..." Seido said as they continued toward the door. "I was the only one that gave him much thought though... Especially with the information he gave us. Not even 24 hours and he was searching for you."
The two of them exited into the hallway and traveled the rest of the way to his apartment. Within seconds he had the door unlocked and they were inside.
The apartment was rather small. The living room was attached to the kitchen and there was a single bedroom. There was a table in the center and a moderate tv in the corner. For the most part everything else was bare.
"Not much... Probably not nearly what you are use to." Seido laughed as he took her coat and hung it in the small closet next to the door.

She stood numbly as they entered the apartment. Her coat was taken form her and he said something about the apartment but she wasn't taking anything in past his previous sentence.
"Not even 24 hours and he was searching for you
Kotone felt a slight drip run down her face. It was followed by another one and then two more and then more, until they were cascading down her face.
Her wing folded around her body as her hands came up and she hid her face in them with a small cry.
"I'm sorry." She choked out. "Just... I.... I was so s-sure. That... that he... he wouldn't even notice I left."
she supposed part of her problem was the fact that her stepmother had taken her fathers attention away form her. She was horrible to Kotone and the half demon had really truly wanted to get out. But deep down she was also very very jealous of the cruel woman.

When she didn't react about the room, he turned to see what was wrong. It wasn't that he had the gull to think that someone had to comment. It was just that nice thing people did.
Her tears weren't caused by a murder... It actually made him slightly happy to see tears that wasn't laced with blood. Though, once he thought this he could already start seeing similarities. "Your father loves you," he said coming over to her. "He just wants to make sure you are safe."

"I know." She whimpered as tears continued to fall. "I'm sorry I shouldn't be crying like this. It's so rude. And you've been so nice."
Even though she was saying that she couldn't help but continue to cry. She had been selfish to leave home like that. But what else was there for her to do? Stay home for the rest of her life? Her life was probably going to be longer than a humans too with her demon blood.
"I just couldn't stand it anymore. There may as well have been bars on all the windows the way it was. And every one is always glaring at me. As if everything is my fault. And there's always this look in father's eyes when he's looking at me. Like he can barely stand to do it because of how much I remind him of mom."
She was trying her very best not to start going in to hysterics. She shouldn't be dumping anymore of her problems on Seido. Bot after all he had done for her today already. But she couldn't seem to shut herself up.

"I don't find it rude," Seido said. There were few times that there wasn't tears involved in his occupation. Ranging from mourning for the loss, the accused, and even for even committing. "Just do what you have to," he said.
It had to be difficult for a parent to deal with these situations. There were those that had to deal with mental or physical birth defects, this might be considered one of them to some people and demons. How small minded the world was. "You are free to stay here as long as you like," he said not really sure what else to say. He couldn't exactly instill confidence in her, she has already done it. And there was nothing that he needed to hear from her, this wasn't a case, or at least, not an official one.

"Thank you." Kotone sniffed as she atempted ot stop crying. "I'm really sorry...." She sniffed again. " I guess I should call him and tell him now huh?"
Her purple eyes were now red and puffy. To distract herself she started ot look around the apartment. "It's nice in here. Kind of homey. A little small compared to what I am used to but that's a good tihng." she atempted a smile but it crumpled again. More tears started to run down her face.

Seido just smiled and nodded to her question. "It would make you feel better too." Though his words probably didn't sink in very well. He knew that usually just hearing someone speak was all that was necessary.
He took in her complements to the room. He knew it would be small and she was probably just being polite. Whether he was right or not he didn't care. It was home, and that was all that mattered to him.
Then an idea popped into his head. "Hey," he said taking her shoulder in his hand. "I have something that might cheer you up." Seido lead the girl to the only door that lead to a room and shuffled her in. His room had the only major western furniture in it and that was the bed with solid faded dark blue comforter. He turned her toward the book case filled with colorful mangas. "Not anime, but the next best thing." His voice quieted quickly.
