The smell of the coldest of winters during summer, that was the smell of Koorime. Ruhisaki had known of this scent since he was a young boy. The ice maidens were the ones who had made his first few flights in his demon form memorable.
Koorime was an icy playground of a child’s dream. Beautiful, though cold, women inhabited that floating island. A young Ruhisaki had known of the kindness of one ice maiden; no other would approach him. He was male and a demon of fire. Most simply turned away and ignored him, while others were willing to throw ice at him to simply harm the defenseless dragon demon. One ice demon had cared for him with a gentle, yet cold hand. This was how he had learned of Koorime and the ways of the ice maidens.
Now, Ruhisaki flew in his demon form with two demons upon his back. One who knew of his strength and of his origins; the other demon denied all of her ties of being demon and thought of herself as a human. They were to go to the floating island to show what the female demon was really missing.
Koorime. The floating paradise of cold lay upon the horizon. The great red dragon moved quickly through the icy air, heading straight toward the realm of the ice maiden. A place that most simply had heard of and very few had ever seen.

Ureihi opened her eyes as she finally noticed that there was a drop in temperature. It was quite comfortable though to the ice maiden. And she looked for the first time in years on the land of her birth. Not that she knew it was. The first thought that entered her mind was that it was beautiful.
Winter had always been her favorite time of year she found snow and ice to be absolutely enchanting. The way they glistened and sparkled in the light made them look so pretty that she could stare at them for hours.
But then her brain came back to her. This was a place in the demon world and it was bound to be dangerous. She was going to be coming in contact with more demons. She started to shake again. There was nothing she could do about it She had to do this to find Sen.

How was this going to work. The girl was clearly a part of this unknown civilization. He could just feel the same energy emitting from the island was the same that lived from in her (the island is not alive. He feels the energy of the people). She was even calm for a few moments before reality set back in.
While he was worried about the maiden in his arms. He was also worried about himself. He has only heard stories that the women that inhabit the island weren't open to new comers and were not even friendly to their own kind returning. Rumor had it that one of the great S class demons, Hiei was once cast down from the island as an infant. If that is what they would do with a baby of their own...

The red dragon made his way over to the floating island. His crimson eyes surveyed the area before finding the right place to land. They touched down; all dragon feet finding their footing. Ruhisaki bent his neck down closer to the ground to allow the two demons upon his back the ability to get down.
“We will just have to tread carefully,” the fire demon warned the others. “You should be safe with me, but they will not be as kind as the humans you are use to. Well, most of them will not be as friendly, but this is for your own good, Ureihi.”

As soon as she was able Ureihi practically fell off of Ruhisaki. She never wanted to fly again only she knew that she was going to have to to get down.
The ice maiden shivered as she hit the snow. It was a weird feeling. Her surroundings were making her feel secure but at the same time she felt anything but secure.
She didn't know what ti expect now. Things looked oddly familiar but every time she tried to think more about it her head started to ache fiercely.

Why was he here? This whole adventure was turning out to be more like a dream or a nightmare more then reality. What drove him to come into demon world then land on a island full of females that loath every male alive. There was a reason why he was living with humans...
But now that he was here he couldn't turn around. There wasn't very many holes between the two worlds and he didn't want to wander aimlessly trying to find one. He has to wait till this ordeal is over.
Yuketsu was sure not to let Ureihi cause to much pain to herself and steadied her once he had hold of her.

The dragon demon transformed back into his normal self, rolling his neck and stretching out his arms. His crimson eyes surveyed the area as he stepped forward before the other two demons. He had no fear upon the floating island, but he knew to watch with a careful eye. He wanted this ice maiden to realize her demon lineage, but he also did not want to completely insult the other ice maidens.
“See anything familiar?” Ruhisaki asked Ureihi as he glanced over at her. “You should feel at home here. This is where you were born.”

Ureihi shook her head to the question then clutched it as the snowy white world aroudn her spun. There were bits and weird little flashes rushing through her head but it was nothing comprehensible and it hurt.
"NO." She wailed quietly as she scrunched up in to a little ball in the snow.

Was this working the way that Ruhisaki was planning it to? Yuketsu watched as the girl was now lost in a world of memories. Since she has entered Demon World it had been one extreme to the next for this girl. She goes from being scared, being at ease, to now being completely tramatized.
He couldn't help but think that this was only causing more troubles.
"This is helping nothing," Yuketsu said turning to Ruhisaki hastily. He was already on edge because of the island. This girl now nearly in tears was just making it worse for him.
Wait tears... She would cry tear gems. What would happen then. Slowly, the demon turned back to the girl forgetting about what he told the fire demon.

Ruhisaki watched the girl. In her eyes, he could see her mind turning. Gears were grinding together and memories were coming to her. Even if the girl denied what was going through her head, the fire demon was no fool. This one was an ice demon, and she had come home. Regardless if she was welcomed back or not, this was her place of origin.
“I do believe this is working exactly how I wanted it to Yuketsu,” the dragon demon said, looking over to the other male demon. “No one can deny their birthplace when they see it. Demons know when they have returned home. I am sure you know what I mean, especially if you have been back to your home. You are always connected to that place no matter how hard you try to pull away.”

Ureihi let out a loud sob. Her head was throbbing as she tried to keep the information that she didn't want to know at bay.
Her parents were humans and had been murdered by a demon. She had been enslaved by a demon tortured and treated like a play thing by one. She couldn't she just couldn't be a demon it was impossible.
That was when it happened. The pain became unable. A tear escaped her eyes and she watched it as it fell to her mind slower than was possible. It hardened and crystallized until a small yellow jewel landed in the snow in front of her.
The ice maiden went perfectly still. She wasn't even breathing as she stared at the tear gem. The betraying evidence of her own race.

He could only watch as the girl suffered. What Ruhisaki said was sitting in the back of his mind burning away till it was all he could think about. Why did he always make points that he couldn't stop himself from thinking about.
Where was he born or created. He didn't remember. And quiet frankly he didn't care. It wasn't going to change how he was. But then, he wasn't this girl here. It was obviously doing something for her... That or she was tramatized so much that he froze up. What was Ruhisaki thinking.
And then there was a tear gem. He couldn't help but go a little sparkly eyed at the sight of it. The only gem that could sell for millions where ever you were. Slowly he walked forward and was aiming to reach for it before he regained his thoughts. Why would he care about a little rock? Sure, he wasn't as rich as Ruhisaki but he didn't need some girl's misery to get there.
Since he was already reaching, Yuketsu knelt down and placed his hand on her shoulder. "This is doing nothing Ruhisaki! Now she will just freeze over everything." Oh, he didn't think of that... Now he was going to become an icicle once she regains her thoughts.

“Hush, Yuketsu,” Ruhisaki said, a certain quiet harshness ringing throughout his words. Other demons seemed blind to the psychological affects of sights, smells, sounds, and other sensations that brought back vivid memories.
The fire demon walked over and picked up the gem. The gem was rather small within his hand, but the frigid coldness was instantly bothering his skin. Ruhisaki held the gem out to Ureihi, leaning down a bit to look into her eyes.
“You want to find your son, but you do not even know who you are. You need to recognize yourself before you can recognize how you can find your son. He needs you to know yourself before you can know him. There are great dangers with you going out to find him without this knowledge. He needs his demon mother to be prepared to handle his demon self.”

Ureihi took in her first breath in about five minuets. She looked at the dragon demon as her spoke but she found her self shaking her head. This was all a horrible nightmare it had to be. But why would she have a nightmare like this?
More tears cascaded down her face and the little jewels littered the frosty ground. She quickly hopped up then jumped back, using demon speed for the first time in her living memory she took off in a direction. Her head was pounding again and all she wanted was for it to stop.
The edge of the island came in to view but she didn't stop, she kept going until the floating Island was no longer under her feet.

And after that there was nothing that Yuketsu could do. It was nice angering the powerful dragon, but dangerous. It was dangerous on to many levels. But so far, he was managing fine. But then, that might be because of the girl.
He wasn't sure how she got herself to believe she was human. Her very appearance was a contradiction to her belief. Living a life as a mortal would be dreadful. And most humans would enjoy the knowledge that they could do so much more with their lives. At least, that was how he saw it.
Yuketsu stood back and let Ruhisaki speak. Now he was proving some good points. After all, the child was a demon and probably raised demon. A demon mother that thought she was human would only complicate things. Just a human raising a demon complicated things.
Suddenly, the ice maiden took off. He expected her to just go off and hide and they would have to follow her. But that wasn't what she was doing...
"Ruhi-!" was all that he could say once he noticed what was happening.
