Miyu looked at him again with a strange look on her face and a stranger feeling in the pit of her stomach. "Yeah. You can stay here as long as you want."
Her parents would freak out if they knew but what else was she supposed to do? She couldn't just throw him out the door. Especial since he didn't seem to know anything about anything.
Miyu stretched again. "Well I'm starving. What do you say we go downstairs and ind some food before my sister comes home?"

He smiled. There was no guilt for accepting the offer. He had nowhere else to go except back to the cave. This world was too odd for him to just go off on his own. Blankets, pillows, and plenty of other things he didn't know and everyone else did. But he didn't know that this wasn't Miyu's original idea. After all, she came back for him why wouldn't he stay with her?
But the idle thoughts about the look she gave him vanished completely when she mentioned food. Quickly his face brightened and he sat up straighter. The blanket that he had pulled around him fell slipped off his shoulder but he didn't care. "Food?!"

"Yeah I'm starving." Her stomach growled as if it was agreeing with her. "Every time." She sighed. "Ive been going through so much more food since I became spirit detective. So what do you want?"
She wasn't really thinking as she talked and therefor forgot that he might not know what was normal for breakfast.

His smile looked more confused. She was giving him a choice on what to eat? What was he suppose to say to that? Usually he had a human or some kind of rotten tasting meat. Humans didn't taste that good, but compared to some of the meat they gave him, it was the best thing in Human World (not that he'd know).
"Food?" Arai said not really knowing what else he was to reply. Right now he could eat even the smelliest meat that the Creators gave him and be happy.

"Well OK then... I'll pick." She headed for the door while thinking. "You know I think we have some pancake mix. Sounds easy enough. Though I warn you they will probably turn out deformed."
Her stomach growled again. "And maybe some toast." She wondered how much food she would end up making for the two of them.

And even more confused. What foods was she talking about. Pancake Mix? Toast? He had never heard those before in his life. Were they even edible foods? But could he turn it down even if they weren't? He was starving. And he didn't know a lot of things, so how could he judge food.
"Are pancake mix good?" He asked while following her. He stood with a small hunch at his shoulders. The black mess of hair uniformly covered his head. That he didn't mind so much, the world was bright even inside... but not nearly as bright as the white room.

"umm.... no. We use the pancake mi to make pancakes and they are good."
This was going to be so odd, explaining things that were normal to her. She went out the door expecting that he would follow. Her stomach growled hungrily.

Pancake mix makes pancakes. That was an easy enough concept to grasp. But what were these pancakes? Sadly, he couldn't even disect the word to get a clue. He didn't know what pans were or cakes.
"You say pancakes are good, Arai will eat them." He said as he looked around as they came toward the kitchen. Everything smelled weird; everything made a small humming noise (that he was familiar about); everything had color. That was the oddest part.
The demon strayed from Miyu to poke the couch. It was colorful and it was squishy too! Squishier then the bed he slept on. "What is this?" he asked. "It doesn't look like bed."

"It's a couch." She answered while starting to make food. "It's for sitting basically." She opened the fridge and started digging for other things to eat. She was way more than starving.
"So, what do you normally eat?" That would give her at at least some idea of what to make. This day was already so weird.... How was she going to hide him from Miyo? Would her sister sense him?

He was having a small sinking feeling. Similar to the feeling of failing the Creators, but not quiet. It was the feeling that he knew nothing and he honestly knew nothing.
The demon carefully sat on the couch and gave a small smile. Learning nice things made him happy though. It was a hard mixture and the happiness was winning out.
Arai then turned to her. "Meat." He said simply. "It was more wet when it tasted good."

"Well....... we don't have much meat really." She sighed and continued to pull out random food that she could make. They wouldn't have more meat until Miyo went to the store and restocked their fridge.
"So I guess this will have to do." two pieces of toast popped out of the toaster. She pulled out jam and butter. "So uh you can try the toast with jam or butter if you want." The two pieces of toast went on a plate. She was going to give him the first pieces.

Toast and Jam... So many odd words. He hopped off the couch and walked over to her. When he came closer his nose went to work. It was an odd smell... It reminded him of burning flesh, but this one was much different smelling. It was a light smell, but still had the heavy smell of fire.
Arai suddenly had the feeling that he could be intelligent. "That is toast?" he asked pointing to what was on the plate. He used the words in context to make his guess. Toast with jam or butter... That meant the jam or butter wasn't on it yet. And the object on the other object on the table looked edible, not the object beneath it.

"Yeah that's toast." She agreed. "Butter, Jam" She pointed to each one in turn.
More toast came up and she brightened. She handed him his plate and to another so that she could get her food. After the two pieces were on the plate and two More pieces of bread were there she got two butter knives. She started putting butter on her toast.

Butter or Jam... Now not only they were odd words. He had to choose between the two. The jam looked thicker and more filling then the butter did. So based only on that he picked up the jar.
It was cold to the touch. Oddly enough it made him smile. His fingers ran over the jar and it's odd feeling. It was kind of like metal, but then wasn't. Arai had watched how Miyu opened the butter container, but the butter container looked different then the jam jar. Never-the-less, he tried to open it the same, and it didn't work. He looked under the lid and then had a hunch. Maybe it was like the medicine that the Creators made him take...
At first he carefully turned it, and when he felt it budge, tried harder. With a light fowap the lid came off. He couldn't help bit give a big toothy happy grin. He figured out the puzzle of, whatever the jam was in. "Container have name?" he asked.
However, he didn't wait for her response. He looked at the jam inside. The demon shifted the jar side to side watching it slide around inside. He tipped the container till a small glob of the jab fell on is hand. It was there that he licked it with a shy tongue.
He jumped completely surprised by how it tasted. Not like meat at all!

"It's a jar."
Miyu practically shoved a whole piece of toast in her mouth. She almost couldn't chew fast enough. And here she thought teenage boys were supposed to be bottomless pits.
The second piece went fast too. After that she wasn't dieing of hunger anymore.
