Kamoku gave a slight laugh and a nod. Well, he didn’t go coffee shop hopping, and she highly doubt he went bar hopping. Did he ever get out that much? She could imagine his time being put upon his work mostly, but now he had some time to relax and get out.
“Well, if you don’t have anything specific planned, maybe we could go find something to do,” Kamoku suggested. “I never have much to do myself. I usually find myself reading or wondering around the city at night like a confused lunatic.” She gave a slight laugh and shook her head.
She often thought she said too much. Or maybe she had not said enough. Either way she was still a bit timid. Seido was one of the first people in a long while who had held such a long conversation with her. No reason to blow anything. Kamoku had no want of scaring off more people. She enjoyed company.
“We may want to swing by my place first, though. I didn’t plan on dragging all of these books around town. I only brought so many since I thought I was going to be reading here alone.”

Seido suddenly looked at Kamoku. It wasn't that she said something funny. Just it wasn't something he has really heard in a long time. Or perhaps that was wrong. Many times the guys at work have offered for him to go drinking or partying with them, but every time he declined. This was the first time that he was actually tempted to say yes.
Now that confused him greatly. But he mentally shrugged it off. Since he had the idea of saying yes, he might as well take it. "Sure," he said rather informally. He had to say yes now or else he would find some way to talk himself out of it. "I don't mind holding your books for a while in my car. I assure you, they will be safe."
But what were they to do he wasn't sure about. After all, the most excitement he has had in the past few years was the crime scene and the cafes.

Her lips were turned upward in a quick smile as Seido agreed to going off to do just something. Kamoku was unsure of what they would or could do at this hour. Regardless, the petite girl would figure out something. Her imagination ran wild quite often and from that imagination came solid ideas. They were in the city, and often no matter what the hour, there was something to do.
“Alright, I think I can trust your car to hold onto my books for a while,” she said with a slight nod. “I doubt anyone would want to steal my books anyways. They are rather old and worn down. Most people seem not to treasure such old things anymore. But I am sure they will be safe, nonetheless in your car.”
The human girl glanced out the window. “We could take a walk. The night air is wonderful, perhaps a bit chilly from the rain, but fresh air is always nice. I know a few lovely places as well.”

The night on the town. It has been a while since he had one of those. Especially with a girl... that he chose for himself. Wait that sounded like he... Oh well. These were his own thoughts anyway, it didn't matter what he thought, he knew what he meant.
Actually, it was probably one of the first times since...
He looked to the ground. This was not the time to be thinking of that. Especially since he was suppose to be having a good time. She would want him to anyway. "Come on," he said trying to hide his current thoughts. He already knew it didn't work. "I parked over here."

Kamoku nodded her head, hugging her books tightly to her chest as she followed after Seido. Her teal eyes watched his movements, especially the expression in his face and eyes. He was thinking about something, and she could not help but be curious.
“Is there something wrong, Seido?” the human girl question, tilting her head slightly as they walked over to his car. “There seems to be something on your mind. I hope I am not upsetting you.”

Something wrong? There was always going to be something wrong with him. He was never going to be completely right again, and neither was the people he works with everyday. But was it Kamoku's fault? No of course not. Was it his fault? Yes... but he couldn't never admit that aloud. Definetly now since all they were doing was talking.
"No, you are not upsetting me," he said smiling. "I am just thinking, that's all." He arrived at his car and unlocked the door. "There you go. Put them wherever you wish."

She gave a gentle smile. “Alright,” she said before placing her books in the back seat of Seido’s car. She closed the door before hooking her arm around Seido’s in a quick almost unseen movement. She sent another smile his way before tugging him down the sidewalk.
“Cheer up,” she said. “We can go to the park just up the street. Walk off any bad thoughts that are in your head.”
Kamoku was enjoying herself. She wondered if it was too obvious. Maybe he would catch onto her eagerness for the company. She hoped not; her eagerness seemed to drive away plenty of people. But she loved company, and she couldn’t help it.
“I usually play around with my koi fish when I am troubled by a thought.”

Bad thought? He wasn't sure if it was a bad thought exactly. If he had a choice all he would think about was this thought. But people say that is unhealthy, and wasting his life. But... it was his fault that this even happened. None of this wou-.
He jumped slightly when suddenly Kamoku was linked arms with him and dragging him along. A smile came to his face despite the thoughts that were darkening it. Quickly he caught up to her so he wasn't being dragged behind.
"You have a koi fish?" he asked trying to start a conversation.

“Yes, I do,” she said with a bright smile. “His name is Jupiter. I usually have him with me. He has his own traveling bowl. I didn’t bring him out tonight, though. I had too many books to carry, and the rain makes his water cloudy. I am sure you will get to see him sometime.”
Kamoku could never hide how much she loved that fish. He was too close and dear to her heart and everyone who had ever known her had known Jupiter. That was just how they worked. Usually, the two were inseparable, but this night was unusual in that aspect. Kamoku was almost glad that she hadn’t brought the fish. How else would have juggled those books and now have an arm around Seido’s arm?
“Do you have any pets or anything like that? I would almost think it would be difficult with you being a detective and all. I would bet you are always pretty busy.”

"No I don't have any pets. I am quiet happy that I don't." He said though it didn't look he was all to happy. Whether it was the subject they were talking about or what had him down before it was hard to tell. "I am often called out in the middle of the night. I don't usually have a normal 9-5. And I don't need a k-9 unit."
He sighed. "It would be nice not coming home to an empty house though..." So some of his depression was coming from the subject at hand. Though, usually he wouldn't mind coming home to an empty house. It was the fact that he had been like this since the Academy. Since he moved out of his house. Since...
"I am sure I will."

Kamoku reached up on tiptoe and ruffled Seido’s hair a bit. “I would say get a fish or a cat. They are pretty low maintenance and don’t ask for a lot. Jupiter always seems quite content even if I leave him at home, and our cat One Eye doesn’t fuss too much. Even when we leave her alone for a while, she still likes to cuddle up to us. I love dogs, but if you aren’t there enough they can leave quite the messes, and they always have sad puppy eyes when they know you’re leaving. Kuraudo-sama still looks sad when we all leave the house, and he’s getting quite old.”
Kamoku really did not know how it felt to live alone. She had always had someone there for her. Her grandparents had always been in her life, and she couldn’t imagine what she would do without them. Of course, she never had a reason to leave. Her grandparents loved her company, and she loved theirs.
The park came into view up ahead, and the petite girl seemed to get distracted from their conversation. She was almost like a dog in this way herself. She got distracted by little things like going to the park. She wasn’t even sure how she had gotten there so quickly or at all. Her feet seemed to lead her.
“I am sure your house won’t be empty forever. Just have to find people and things to crowd inside of it. Probably why my bedroom never feels empty. I always have a mess of just stuff everywhere.”

Seido couldn't help but close his eyes as his hair went through the girls fingers. A small smile came to his face as he readjusted his glasses after she was done.
A fish or a cat, huh? For some reason he didn't really find him much of an animal person. Especially not the lonely man with his cat sort of person. He never really understood why people talked to their pets. They couldn't understand each other's spoken language. If it was just being lonely, he hoped he never got that way. He didn't mean it to an insult to anyone, though. It was just how he saw it. He figured that it wasn't true for everyone.
Kamoku seemed to truly love her pets. It was just how someone was. Each of them had such unique names. Maybe he was just over thinking the animal thing.
"I don't think it will be either. But it seems to be taking it's own sweet time on filling itself. "

“Just be patient,” Kamoku said simply with a smile. She tucked a few locks of her hair behind her ear as she continued forward through the park. “But don’t worry too much about filling the space right now. Enjoy yourself.”
The petite human girl stepped back toward the detective, taking hold of his hand with a gentle touch from her fingers. She hummed quietly as she pulled Seido forward along the path.
“Seido, do you know how to dance a bit?” Kamoku questioned as she continued to lead him through the park. “I know how to a little bit. I usually dance in the moonlight alone.” She took hold of his other hand gently.

Being patient was part of the job description. Sometimes all you can do is wait and suddenly the best will happen. Though, sometimes, waiting is one thing you can't do. That was the case for...
His thoughts were suddenly cut off when she took his hand. That wasn't something he was expecting at all. But he didn't pull his hand from her. He didn't take her hand, though. A small smile came to his lips as he followed the girl.
"Do I know how to dance?" he asked just because the question seemed odd to him. That was before she finished her explanation. With her taking both of his hands he was beginning to understand what she was asking. "No... I can't dance" he said quietly. If she was paying attention she could probably notice him turning slightly red.

“I am sure you can dance! Everyone can dance a little bit.” She pulled Seido out into a completely open patch of moonlight. The ground was wet beneath their feet and the wetness could be heard with their footsteps.
Kamoku leaned forward, slipping her arms up to wrap around Seido’s neck. She smiled a bit as one of her hands instructed the detective’s hands to slip around her waist. She swayed a bit, forcing him to move along with her.
“This is simple but it is still dancing,” the petite girl said to him. “My grandparents even sometimes still dance like this. They do it when they think they are alone. They can be rather cute still, but dancing like this shows how much they still love each other.”
The girl smiled, tilting her head slightly as she looked up at him. This was a rather bold move on her part. She had never really danced with someone else especially a man. It was rather enjoyable.
