[FINISHED] Mystery of Demons Door Cave

[Arai]

For a long time, Demons Door Cave has been abandoned. There was always something weird about it that kept the humans from going near it now. It smelled toxic and had an aura of death. Demons easily can put a name to the feeling that kept humans away. It was the smell of Demon World. It was the hole that was sealed up years ago that continued to leak energy.

Demons wanting back to where they originated came only to be disappointed. It was only a place to reminisce the past that they left behind. Rumors died down the traffic to the Demon's Door Cave, but there were always those that wanted to see if it was true.

But there was something unusual now happening with the cave. Those that enter the cave, whether playing Chicken with friends from the high school or demons wanting to see if there was just a tiny hole to squeeze through they have all disappeared.

The cave then was sealed off so no more humans can enter. Still people go inside, only to disappear forever.

[Miyu]

It had started out as a pretty normal day for Miyu. Her alarm clock went off and she rolled over to press the snooze button. A few minuets later it went off and she pressed the snooze button. She repeated this process two more times until on her last try a hand was already there. Groggily Miyu looked up in to her sisters obviously irritated face.

"When your alarm goes off that means its time to get up." Miyo was already dressed for school and giving her little sister one of those looks. The kind that annoyed the heck out of Miyu.

"So that means you have to come in to my room and get me up personally." she practically growled. " It's my business whether or not I go to school. I don't need you lecturing me." She pulled the blanket over her head only to have it yanked off again.

"Mom and dad are away for the week. As the oldest that leaves me in charge."

"Your not that much older." Miyu lunged out of bed, reaching for the blanket. Miyo wouldn't have it though she quickly left the room with Miyu's blanket. "I hate her so much."

After that there was nothing left to do but get ready for school and go. Otherwise Miyo would call mom and dad and tell them that she was skipping class. Even though that was exactly what she wanted to do she didn't need to get in any more trouble.

Fortunately yet unfortunately, her plans to actually attend school were derailed by a beeping coming from her bag. Not sure if she was relived or angry Miyu pulled a small beeping compact out of her bag and flipped it open.

In the screen of the communication mirror was her boss, and son of the ruler of the universe, Koenma.
"Yo."

"What? This had better be important it's probably going to get me grounded."
"I assure you it is most important." The toddler said in a dignified tone.

Miyu rolled her eyes. "Well, what is it?"

Koenma cleared his throat. "There has been a bit of a problem recently at a place known as Demons Door Cave. You see something is going on in there. We have as of yet been unable to get any kind of idea as to what it is though. I didn't want to send you there, as untrained as you are, but I'm running out of options. We need some kind of idea whats happening."

"What taking out the bad guys isn't a part of this mission?" She asked sarcastically.

"Absolutely not." His voice was stern. "The little I do know is that whatever is happening is way out of the scope of your abilities. I only want you to check things out, be as stealthy as possible."

"Alright. alright." Miyu snapped the compact closed and headed back home. she defiantly couldn't go on a mission in her school uniform.


And that was how she had ended up here. Standing crouched behind a big rock next to the cave. She was trying to decide what to do now. Should she try and find another way in or try and get in through the front. Enough people had apparently disappeared that the entrance to the cave was sealed off. She could see however that there was a way in for someone about her size. It would require some climbing.... Why not. After all it was probably the only way in and she didn't want to waste time walking all the way around the cave trying to find another one.

Carefully she made her way to the entrance. It seemed like there were enough rough patches that it wouldn't take much effort for her to climb up, so she did so. The hole would be a bit of a squeeze but it was manageable. And Then she was inside. Celebrating silently in her head, Miyu then set off quietly in to the cave.

[Arai]

The entrance of the cave was the same as it was in the past. It was the only part that made the kids from the city want to see what was so big and scary inside. Rumor has now said that there is a demon that eats the flesh of all those that go inside. Two years ago, people near the cave said that they heard screams of pain. But since, it's been quiet and no one has returned to say if it was true or not.

There isn't one person that has entered that hasn't gone unnoticed. Miyu was no different. What was going on inside the cave was a secret and they planned to keep it that way. Measures were already being taken to make sure of it.

The entrance of the cave was cold and damp as any cave should be. Bats, however, didn't cling to the ceiling nor any other signs of life. Plants lined against the wall of the cave have withered and died but have yet to decay. These plants were only along some walls though. A matter of fact they were only on one path way. There were traces of energy left on them.

There were voices deeper in the cave. They didn't care if the intruder heard or not. It didn't matter to them at all. The intruder was just going to be dead and there wasn't going to be a trace of them. "You can play with her all you want," said a nasally voice. "She is a human with energy."

The gray creature beside him nodded. A thick black mane covered his face. "Arai get the intruder first?" from behind the black hairs a spiked grin glowed. The demon didn't wear any shoes and his clothing looked like it had seen some better times. The hems were all torn out and the stomach of his shirt was ripped off. It seemed to fit him though.

"You killed anyone else that could." It didn't seem that Arai minded this. Infact his smile only grew more. "Have fun, 003." The man then disappeared down through a metal doorway that was added to the cave.

Fun? the creature thought as he looked back to where he came from and where the man now had disappeared into. "Arai will kill, not have fun" He turned back to the only opening to the cavern. The sound of life coming closer just made him excited.

[Miyu]

Miyu hit the ground as quietly as she could. It was a little hard considering the fact that every step she took echoed horribly. How was she supposed to be stealthy in a cave?

That aside she ventured in to the cave. It wasn't long until she hit the first turn. The only thing not rock around was a very withered looking plant. She wondered what it was doing there. Plants normally didn't grow in rock.

It took a minuet but eventually her sixth sense locked in on the direction that would take her to where other living things were. So she set off carefully in that direction, wincing every time she didn't place her feet quietly enough. Maybe Koenma had to much faith in her and she was about to die....

It would probably help her situation if she could see better too... unfortunately even if she had thought to bring a flash light, using it would have been a bad idea. It would have defeated the purpose of stealth and made it harder for her to hide... Come to think of it what was she going to do if someone was coming down the passage? there was absolutely no place to hide at all..... great....

[Arai]

Thump, thump, thump. If it wasn't getting louder with every step he might have thought it to be his own chest thumping. He started to get impatient with the intruder. By all means Arai could hunt the intruder down, he has had to do it before, but he was hungry and didn't feel like doing extra work. The creators don't wan't much from him today anyway. They probably weren't even watching.

Outside humans and dmeons had a weird smell to them. They didn't smell like the ones that worked in the facility where he was created. A weird way to word it is that they smelled clean. It was something new but never something he could relish and think over. If he did think on it it would just give him a head ache. The creators were smarter then him, he knew that very well. But he wasn't going to ask them why they smelled clean.

Arai heard the intruder get even closer. Not much more and the human with energy was going to be here. Hopefully they tasted good that or he wished he got his normal food also. "003 gets more food after this?" he asked the empty room. He knew that something heard him. Just whether that something was listening was another story.

He didn't expect an answer though. Instead the gray creature moved from where he stood to a little before the door. Should he go for the instant kill, or let them fight a little?

[Miyu]

She was getting closer. her sixth sense was about to go haywire. Miyu slowed down and crept forward. It was then that she heard the voice.

[glow=red,2,300] "003 gets more food after this?" [/glow]

That made her stop dead in her tracks. They knew she was here. Now what? Was she supposed to retreat or keep going? Koenma thought that this would be to tough for her. The problem was that she wasn't quiet sure she could outrun the demon that was just a little ways down the passage.

So that made her decision for her. She got ready to fight and continued to slowly edge forward. Every nerve in the fourteen year old girls body was quivering.

[Arai]

Thump, thump, thump. Now he knew it was his chest thumping. It was getting faster and his body grew on edge. His jagged teeth gave him a not so friendly toothy smile. The human now saw him. In his head he slowly started to count backwards. 5...4...3...2...

Wait. The clean smelling human girl wasn't running away. That wasn't normal. In fact, it was a little unnerving. The creature's smile faded and he tilted his head to his side a little. It didn't even seem like she was petrified with fear even. No wonder his body grew so tense over a human intruder. This one wasn't just a normal one.

However, the demon didn't move other then showing his confusion. He wasn't going to attack first only because he was confident in his ability. The intruders were always easy to defeat. Even those that were a little harder and killed someone before it came to him. But even then he never got hurt.

His body was giving him the answer of killing her now. But his mind was finding this interesting. Never did a human just walk up to their death. At least not one that wasn't white and wrinkly babbling about exorcising demons. That was enjoyable for many different reasons.

[Miyu]

Miyu continued to cautiously approach the creature. It was pretty freaky looking for demon. Though that was mostly coming from its completely unkempt look. Most demons took at least a little care of themselves.

She watched as it grew confused. No doubt it had been expecting her to run away. Se was unnerving it and that was good. So Miyu looked her opponent straight in the eye and gave a little confident smirk.

She knew enough about fighting to know that a little intimidation could work wonders.

The demon didn't seem all to strong, But still something in the back of her mind was telling her to stay alert and be wary. Now what did she have on her? Communication mirror in her right pocket, Psychic spy glass in her left, concentration ring on her finger. After some debate outside the cave she had decided to put the ring on. Since she only had one shot as it was she might as well make it count.

[Arai]

Thump, thump, thump. He was building up energy but for once he was comfortable holding it in. Usually he realeased the energy and slew the enemy before him before it got this high. But he was finding this human girl far to interesting to just kill. She wasn't one of the other creations like himself and stood before him with no fear.

The human probably didn't think much of him. That was most likely the case and a case that Arai didn't and coudln't think of. He didn't understand why the girl wasn't running from him. All humans eventually tried to run from him. Even those that came just to burn him alive. He still remembered the burning feeling of the weak sutra on his skin. Anything with pain was registered forever into his mind.

Arai watched her still confused. She was looking right into her death and didn't seem to be afraid at all. Perhaps this human was like one of the creations, flawed. That put him in a little different mind set. This person wasn't an intruder, it was a creation and he should defeat her as such.

This didn't mean he wanted to attack first though. He did give a hint though when he settled down into a more fighting postior. His toes spread apart to give himself more surface area on the cool cave fore. Gashes littered the ground from where he dug his claws into it.

[Miyu]

Miyu came to a stop and observed him. It was obvious that he wanted a fight. And she had a pretty good idea that if she tried to retreat he would catch her so that option was pointless.

Koenma was going to yell at her after this whether she survived or not. That was the bad thing the boss she had. There was no escaping him no matter what happened. But the again at least she would never be tempted to throw a fight just to escape a lecture.

She looked him over trying to find the weak point. Unfortunately she didn't really see one. That wasn't good. She might be able to take him but it would be a close fight.

As she continued to watch him her eye brow raised. "So are you just here for decoration or do you actually move?"

[Arai]

This was going to be a fight. Arai didn't have a choice on that at all. Either way the girl before him was going to die. Whether or not she begged for mercy. Mercy was something he never learned and was something that the creators didn't mind implementing.

The human's instincts had to be messed up if she was still standing here talking with him. Either they ran from him or charged out of fear. She wasn't doing either.

"I can move," he said with a confused face still on him. "But you go first." This was probably a bad idea, and he knew it but he was confident in his ability. The human didn't look to be strong at all, though they acted like they were.

Though if worst came to worst he knew his body had a back up system that would start up when times got rough. If his back up kicked in he was done for, so dying while he was stronger but out of control didn't really matter.

[Miyu]

She almost laughed. Somehow it would figure she didn't want to attack first but retreat was definitely not an option. What could she do then? Ideally since he was giving her the first shot she would just fire an energy arrow and be done with it.

There was no guarantee that her spirit arrow would defeat him and if she fired and it didn't work she was doomed.

So Miyu did what she did best. She stopped thinking and started acting. The short haired girl went from a total standstill to a full out charge faster than most humans could manage.

[Arai]

She took the first move. That didn't mean that he was just going to let him be hit when she charged. The demon might be reckless but he wasn't that reckless. But she was only a human, he was going to push his luck. Arai stood completely still as she came towards him.

He had to hand it to this girl, most humans ran away at first sight of him. Most humans that weren't babbling about exrocising the evil demon. But they took a completely different approach then they did. The exrocists stayed as far away from him as possible throwing little paper things that burned when they touched his skin. This girl was running right at him like the demons would.

Miyu came closer and closer to him and he still held a slightly confused look on his face. The girl was either brave or had something wrong with her brain. Maybe she had a control issue too?

However, right when the girl came close to him his toes spread apart and dug into the rock floor. It didn't appear that he moved at all when suddenly he was in the air above her. His after image remained where he once stood.

[Miyu]

Her plan had started out being punch his brains out since he seemed to be unprepared. If she could have done that it probably could have worked out OK.

Then he moved. At first this didn't register in her brain because he left an after image. So her eyes were still telling her he was in front of her. Her sixth sense though said he was above her and she trusted that more than her eyes at the moment.

So Miyu threw herself sideways to avoid any attack he might have been planning and twisted as she went to try and face him. Her nerves almost hummed in alertness. Already she knew that this was going to be trouble. He was much faster than the girl.

[Arai]

Now what to do... Usually he already had the creature dead or went beserk by now so he didn't know what to do next. Arai didn't want to kill the human girl, but again, he was in a perfect place to do so. Actually anywhere was a perfect place to do so.

Arai twisted in the air and watched the girl still head for his after image when she suddenly shifted to the side. A moment later his image had disappeared. His head tilted to the side again. How was the human girl able to tell that the image left was a fake? Was he underestimating human eyes?

He smiled as she moved though. He could scare her a lot if he'd... The creature shifted and changed his path in the air so when he landed he could quickly move again. When he did he was directly behind Miyu in the path she took to move away from him.
