[FINISHED] Mystery of Demons Door Cave

Why did he even do it?. That was something he never really thought about. Arai never reflected on why he did something or why something happened. Never has Arai done something that would get him in trouble, other then attack whenever shots were administered, but that they were use to. He never thought about what he had done and if it was good or not. Sure, he had been convinced to do some things that he normally wouldn't like doing, but it was nothing that had consequence to it.

This had consequence.

What drove him to let the human go? She was curious. She behaved differently then all the others he had to fight and in the end, she caused the most damage to him. Why did he follow his impulse? Look where it has gotten him now. His body was covered in cuts that were made out of punishment instead of experiments, his shoulder kept oozing because of the burn that the human's blast had caused, and on top of that they all hurt. By now, usually, the pain would slip his mind. This time the pain was fresh and constant. Because the pain wouldn't dissipate he couldn't sit still, because he couldn't sit still he couldn't warm a spot in the steel cage. The cold never was his friend, now he had a constant shiver about him and the cold cage was the sole cause.

On top of that, he was hungry. Why did he let the human go? If he had killed her he would have been able to eat. If he had killed her he could sleep. If he had killed her he wouldn't be thinking about why he didn't.

[Miyu]

Miyu followed his energy. It was easy to lock on to. IT was hard to forget the energy of some one who had almost killed her. She was insane. This was probably going to kill her and then Koenma was going to be angry. But she had to know.

If she didn't come see then it would keep on bothering her. He had obviously held back a lot to let her go and she needed to know why.

Her footsteps still echoed loudly and it made her wince. But the place were she had fought him came and went and she was still going. It was eerily silent and that just made her footsteps seem louder.

Closer and closer to the energy she came. How big was this cave? How far down did it go? She had no answers for this but it had been well over an hour since she had entered the cave.

Finally it was just up ahead. She slowed down and made her way more carefully. Around this next curve she would find him. She made it around the curve and there was a wall. It was the first thing that wasn't stone that she had seen in a while.

She went up and gently tried the door. It was unlocked and she almost jumped for joy but had to contain herself. Carefully Miyu swung the door open and sidled in to the room. She was alert for any movement.

[Arai]

Before today he didn't know misery. Arai knew what pain was. Nearly every day of his life had had pain. The first year of his life had more pain then anything. But it wasn't miserable.

The sound of footsteps was easily heard. It was an unfamiliar walk, and it sounded cautious. That wasn't a new sound. Many times the new creators got lost and they feared getting in trouble. This was most likely no different. He didn't find the need to growl till suddenly the door opened.

Quickly Arai voiced his protest. They didn't come to give him food so the only reason someone would be here was to inflict more pain. He wasn't going to let that happen. The creature centered himself in the cage on all fours. Claw marks surrounded this spot, the more deeper ones had dried blood in them from his most recent wounds. His wild hair was in his face that hid everything but his mouth. The muscle around his mouth was stretching considerably showing all of the razor tipped teeth.

Usually he would just try to avoid capture. But this time, he wanted nothing to do with it. If the human got close he was going to slice anything that came near him.

[Miyu]

Her attention was focused as soon as she heard the first growl. Miyu's head turned to see where the noise came from and found him.

He was in a cage. In the center of the cage and growling viciously. Not only had his wound from her arrow not healed but he had many new ones as well. This whole thing was now even more confusing than before.

Miyu took a few slow steps toward him and gaged his reaction. She didn't know why he was in a cage but that didn't mean she didn't need to be careful. This whole place was filled with dangers as far as she knew.

She kept coming closer to the cage wondering why she was even doing this or what she was going to do now that she was here.

[Arai]

Last thing he wanted was more pain. Didn't he have enough pain for right now? They knew he was starving, they knew they put the cuts in ways that he couldn't lay comfortably. Hasn't he suffered enough for the mistake he made. Every step closer the human made his growling got louder till...

He knew this human. Not only did he know this human... but it was the girl. The girl that got him in this mess!

Arai's growling ceased quickly. But he couldn't decide on whether to be still aggressive of be confused. The confusion was winning out. His snarling face was relaxing slowly and his head tilted to one side a little. What was she doing here? There was no reason for the human girl to come back... and here she was.

Now the closer she got the more confused he became. The clean smell was still on her, so she wasn't a worker of the creators. But he was their only line of defense. Anyone could just sneak in right now.

[Miyu]

She kept going until she was right in front of the cave and knelt down so she could get a better look at him. Obviously he wasn't here out of his own choice. Why then... what was this place and why was he here?

"If I let you out are you going to kill me?" It was a stupid sounding question but something that worried her. He looked like he needed help but she had to protect herself. Her green eyes attempted to stare in to his trying to figure him out a little but she was unable to accomplish this because of all the hair in his face.

[Arai]

Now all that he was was confused. Arai stopped growling completely and the wrinkle in his nose from his snarl even smoothed out. What was this girl doing? He didn't understand at all. Was she seriously going to let him out of the cage? She wasn't just lying to him. He had been tricked before, but what she was talking about actually seemed genuine.

The creature relaxed even more and and went to a sitting position. Though the gashes that had sliced through his pant legs hurt from the flexing muscle he crouched. Some of the wounds opened a little because of it. Eventually Arai shook his head.

This had to be a trick. But she didn't smell like the creators, she didn't act like them either. In a way, she acted like the ones that gave him his name.

[Miyu]

Well she was going to take that as it was safe to let him out. Probably it was a bad idea to trust him just like that but he didn't seem like he wanted her dead.

Miyu stood back up and went went to work on the lock of the cage. she knew that the ability to pick locks would come in handy one day. When the lock clicked she opened the door wide.

"There you go." she stood back a little and kept her eyes on him just in case. She was still confused and didn't understand what to expect at all.

[Arai]

The door was open. But for once Arai didn't just want to walk out. There was no one wearing all white. There was no one smelling like the depths of the cave. It was just the clean smelling human girl. He only looked out the open door as if it was just an illusion and he only had to talk himself out of it to see it go away.

Then there was a familiar set of steps coming down the hall. They were much quieter then the girl's but Arai heard it just as clearly. Though, for once, he didn't react. All of his brain power was working out if this was a trap or not.

"Who are you... What are you doing here?" a demon woman asked quietly. It didn't appear that she was angry, actually it seemed that she herself wasn't suppose to be there and didn't want either of them to be caught. Unlike Miyu, the demon was holding her shoes and was walking in only her leggings.

[Miyu]

Miyu jumped and turned around to face the newcomer. She had been found, not good.... But the person didn't look angry so maybe not as bad as it could be.

She just stared at the person, not sure how to answer. Her name probably wasn't exactly what was being asked but saying she was the spirit detective was a bad idea. The girl wasn't sure at all what she was doing here and there fore couldn't answer that question either.

"ummm..... well..."

[Arai]

Arai continued to look out the door. He wished he had been in a situation similar to this then he would better tell if this was a trap. The creature looked up and tilted his head a little the other way.

The new demon girl looked to Arai and gave him a smile. This wasn't exactly how she saw the next line of events, but maybe it was best this way. She squeezed the wooden case that was under her arm.

"If you plan on taking him with you then I have something for you. Will you step outside for a moment?" Now she just had to make sure the human trusted her enough to do this. "It might better couch him out anyway," she mouthed. All too well did the demon know that Arai would hear her if she voiced it.

[Miyu]

Miyu examined the girl and had to make a quick desision. should she go with her? Might as well considering. The spirit detective was still half convinced that she was going to die anyway.

"Sure....." Her eyes stayed on the demon girl and waited for her to lead the way out of the room.

[Arai]

The demon girl smiled. She looked out either way and then stepped out into the hall and shut the door nearly all the way then she turned back to her.

A human... she would never have guessed that a human that Arai was stronger than would be taking this role. But then she was sure that Arai was stronger than her as well. As a matter of fact it was only the fact that the creators kept Arai dumb that really kept him weaker then anyone.

"I hope you won't need them." The demon girl then presented Miyu the box that was firmly clamped shut with two tarnished bronze clasps.
"But you will know when you do. Please accept it."

Was this all that the demon girl could do... It was, and that was rather depressing. That and shut off all of the cameras in this area as a malfunction. There was a clear exit, that was probably how the human sneaked in in the first place.

[Miyu]

"uhh?" Miyu hesitantly took the box. "What is it?" She undid the clasp and took a peek inside. Looking at it still didn't tell her what it was at all.

This whole thing was moving so fast. She hadn't planned on letting the demon out just getting some answers. Then again she hadn't planned on finding him locked up at all. She came here for answers but it was just making less and less sense.

Her head almost started spinning. Thinking wasn't exactly her strong point. As if she hadn't had that rubbed in her face enough for one week.

[Arai]

The door knob then turned. The demon girl then quickly shut the wooden box and shut the clasps before the door finished opening. A rather confused Arai was in the doorway. His hair seemed to be more in his face then usual and he was using the upmost caution, to the point where he looked both ways before coming the rest of the way out.

"You are free to leave, Arai," the demon girl said to him. This seemed to confuse him even more. "No more pain, no more tests, no more killing innocent lives because they want you too." This seemed to be more of a hint to the fact that he let Miyu live.

At her first sentence Arai stood up straighter and a small smile came to his face. No more pain... That had a nice ring to it.

"Good luck." The demon girl then left quickly.

Arai returned to being confused for a while before something clicked in his mind. "Destroy this place?" he asked Miyu. He then crudely reenacted her Spirit Bow.
