A breeze swept through the market place like the breath of fate through a graveyard. It was refreshing, really, somewhat cooling her frustration as it toyed with her feather-soft hair. She locked eyes with one of the vender demons, then averted it with a huff. She'd passed him twice today. This was the black marketplace, right? And this Hiei was not only apparently a villian, but a well known villian. The Dark Tournament was the stuff around this place. And still, no one had a clue where he was. No one she'd talked to had even seen him.
"Hey, watch it, princess!" Someone snapped as she resorted to shoving people, trying to make it to a nearby alleyway and escape the crowd. Murky droplets flew as she crossed a puddle of God-knows-what, pausing as she got far enough into the tunnel that the noise wasn't wasn't quite so penitrating to her headache. She leaned against the wall and ran her fingers through her hair, closing her cerulean orbs and allowing a soft moan of displeasure.
It was excessivly embarrassing to her to have to ask anyone for help in the first place. Not because she was arrogant or anything...but because...that's simply not how she rolled. If you couldn't achieve something on your own then maybe you didn't deserve to have it... that was one of her many little self-inflicted rules. Of course, "seeking help" was not way she planned on presenting it to this Hiei guy - when she FOUND the little b*st*rd. But that didn't change what it was. "The end will justify the means." she reassured herself, "Just find him."

He had forgotten why he had liked this place. It was loud and annoying. The demons tended to crowd together, and he was almost stepped on twice by the same ogre. He kept his pace though, walking slowly his footsteps not making a sound as he walked. He didn’t actually stand out in the crowd, as he walked, his hands in his pockets, his red eyes focused on where he was walking. He had business to tend too. He bumped past an ogre, and it growled to him, he shot it a glance, and it went quiet. He was well known here, it was the fact that they were to afraid to tell anyone where he would be at. He liked it that way.
He paused, and walked into an alley way, a woman was standing there, he ignored her, his black spiky hair waving back as the wind pushed it back. He walked into a door, his glowing red eyes. In that moment as he walked into the door, it would appear time would slow and every one would speed up, until she could only focus on him. He then entered the building, he looked to a large ogre, with eyes the color of his skin.
”Rumor is... your harboring killers. Is it true?” He questioned, coldly, as he stared to a glass that was for sale. The ogre snorted. ” This isn’t like the old times Hiei, people don’t fear you...as much anymore. Your going ru-” the ogre went silent, as there was a blade to his neck. Cold metallic red eyes stared to him. Then they disappeared, the ogre’s head fell on the counter next to the register. Hiei stared, then cleaned off his blade on the ogre’s clothing.”Hn.”

Ambrie's brows lowered as she sensed someone moving down her alley. She was still sketchy when it came to sensing out energies - it was a new skill to her. He didn't feel any different than any of the average demons approaching at first but suddenly the full picture sank in. Heh...yeah, I don't think this guy is average.
She opened her eyes, light blue hues finding him just as he passed. And she blinked.
...No freaking way.
Gloved fingers still interlaced with her messy brown hair, she flipped opened the small folded snapshot of the demon she'd attained in her other hand and glanced down at it - since when had her luck ever been so great?
But it was him alright and he just walked right on up to her doorstep too, how awesome was that? Tucking it back in her pocket, her eyes shifted back to her right just as the demon entered the doorway, narrowing in interest as the dark atmosphere seemed to distort around him. And when the ogre met his fate.
"You drive a hard line on contradiction." She said with a smile, now standing in the doorway and gazing nonchalantly down at mess Hiei had made. He was shorter than she expected. Even shorter than her.
That made her happy.

He had watched the head slide off and hit the counter top. He stared as the body fell back wards, making a loud thud. Hiei’s ears twitched, and he placed his blade away. The power he sensed, was low. Not a threat to him, not at all. He sat down on the wooden counter top, the head next to him, as he stared at the door, soon it opened, and she came in. He looked at her. ”Out of business” he spoke coldly, kicking the head to the ground, it rolled over to her feet, and the hollow eyes stared up to her.
What she said, made his eye brow raise.
He crossed his arms. Probably some one who wants him to do their bidding. He slid off the counter top and walked slowly to her. He paused, and looked up to her. His red eyes staring into her blue ones. She was taller then him, but then again. Who wasn’t? ”Not interested.” he spoke before walking off, leaving the place. The smell of rot and decay went to her nose. Ogre’s decayed fast, almost as fast as Hiei got out of there.
He had been walking through the street’s again. His hands in his pockets. Here in the market. Death was a normal thing. Creatures got use to it. Most of them were corrupt here anyways. He pushed through people, his eyes narrowed. He didn’t care what that girl wanted, or needed. It did not concern him. He continued to walk.

Whoa, attitude alert! Ambrie scowled. She hadn't even said anything to him about...anything like that. She was just making a little joke on how he killed a guy for "harboring killers". Not interested in what? Jerk...
"What are you-- Hey, wait!"
Swallowing her annoyance, she, of course, followed him out to the square. "How do you know if I haven't even asked you?" Her words were somewhat haistened, kind of occupied trying to wiggle through the people that seemed bent on filling the gap between her and Hiei. But she stayed on his heels. He couldn't just walk away; she needed this too much.
She reached out and put her hand on his shoulder, hopefully to stop him. "At least listen." She did not feel like chasing his butt all across this market. [/blockquote]

Why did they always follow him? He heard her cries to tell him to stop, in fact he moved on. His ears twitched, and when she went to touch his shoulder he was gone. Like he disappeared, she felt it. Something cold and metallic at the back of her neck. It would seem time stopped for her, and she could feel his cold crimson eyes burrowing into her skull. Like that saying “If looks can kill” Well she’d be drowning in her own blood right now, or something torturous, cause his eyes, had been spitting out daggers to her.
A crowd seemed to form around them, some people lost interest and went on their own way, but others gave them space. A large circle, with hungry eyes staring down for them. Hungry for blood shed. She heard his voice, it was demanding, ”You have five seconds.” he spoke acidly, his voice was deep and soothing, yet the manner he said it. Had acid dripping off of each letter in his words. ”I am listening” he spoke, his red eyes narrowed on her.

Those cerulean orbs blinked in startlement when he vanished at her touch. And for the first time in a long time full blown confusion sank in and Ambrie simply wasn't used to that. Of course, she hadn't been in demon world for very long - at least not the more "upper class" parts. The forest of fools had been one big, happy coon-hunt for her. Boring even. But the sudden feeling of cold steel against her neck, pressing past a log of hair, removed all uncertainty.
Ambrie froze. All save her head slowly turning so she could catch his face out of the corner of her eye to meet his glare boldly, lips pulling back to reveal quite the nasty snarl for such a pretty face. Her pulse began to roar in her ears, and for a moment, she fought an inner battle to keep herself in check. This demon would kick her around like a soccer ball if he wanted...she had to remember that. And, judging by his face, he would probably do a lot more than that if she made a move...if she could even make a move; she'd never seen someone so fast. Add that right along with reason number two why you should never ask anyone for help - you can't afford to p*ss them off.
Having finally surpressed the urge to retaliate, Ambrie still couldn't totally swallow her outrage. Her snarl faded from something almost feral to something almost cute, cheeks flushing with embarrassment at all these people watching her get alpha rolled. "I'm not telling you anything 'till you stop being so mean!" She barked. She felt tears burning her eyes. Small, angry, frustrated tears that she refused to let leave her eyes and roll.
"Someone told me to find you; they said you would help!" She sniffled, making the best angry face she could muster. Lulz, there we go, guilt trip his *ss. They really had said that of course, but if this didn't work...well...already her mind was running through stratagies of how to physically get out of this mess with her life...if that were even possible. This helpless feeling was agonizing. Absolute agony. [/size]

He stared to the back of her head. He heard her talk, and he could smell the disgusting saltiness in the air. She felt the blade leave the back of her neck. ”Then I do not need to be bothered by this pathetic nonsense” he spoke. The woman should be lucky, he thought. He would have killed anyone by now. But he had been feeling rather sick of blood shed. Oh who the hell was he kidding. Not himself that is. He put his blade away, and turned to her, before jumping and landing on a building.
The crowd grunted and grumbled in dismay, but once they noticed who the short man was. A wave of fear seemed to come over the crowd, they wouldn’t look at her. She heard whisper’s about herself. About how lucky she is to be alive. He stared down to the crowd, mainly the girl. Whatever she wanted must have not been too important for her life to be on the line. He snorted. How pathetic. He walked off, his hands in his pockets again, his blade away. He could easily read her mind, the girl was not one to be trust, he could sense anyways. But come to think of it, who did he trust?

How completely...humiliating.
The small human straightened, expression tight, when the demon once again snubbed her. She sniffled as she dusted herself off, like the encounter itself had left behind particles of unease and her face was overshadowed. Not for one second should you think the murmers around her had gone unnoticed by her ears. And it...stung. She felt like a child who'd just been dissed by her mommy in front of her new friends, more than anything. The fact that Hiei was supposedly oh so dangerous would've been enough to make any sane person to go back home or look for someone else to help them. But Ambrie had a history of being extreme. Hiei had been wrong about one thing.
This certainly was important enough to risk her life.
The next moment Ambrie was standing in front of him, on the guard wall at the edge of his building, arms crossed and eyes glaring daggers. She didn't say anything, didn't have to. The fact that she refused to quit was a bell that rang just as loud as the wickedness through this market.
Perhaps being bossy was the wrong approach. But...saying please was frightening. He was already stronger than her, he needn't think he had any more edge over her than that. Those situations always turned out the same...and he was no better than anyone else.

He had been walking slowly on the roof tops, turning his head. Like an annoying fly, he felt annoyance start to creep on his shoulders, as he turned. Seeing that stupid girl. His eyes narrowed. He didn’t need his blade for this, his hands turned into small fist as he looked to her, his glare matched hers, if not over powers hers. As she felt a head ache over come her mind. It had really been Hiei raiding through her mind. While she had the head ache, she heard his knuckles crack, as he curled them into fist. That noise would make a grown man flinch in fear.
His red eyes stared to her. She could see the annoyance grow. This girl had gotten lucky twice. He would not make that mistake again. His eyes snapped open, and they widened, as he found out why she had been so annoying, as he seemed to disappear. She then felt a warm hand over her throat, as she saw the red eyes, that were inches from her face. ”I will help you, but I take the object.” He spoke, his eyes narrowing to her. She felt his small fingers grasp against her neck. ”Understood?” He spoke. It wasn’t a question, it seemed more like an order

OOC:// Rofl! Poor Ambrie; you play Hiei well. Brows low, little wrinkle over her nose and all, Ambrie's glare remained ridged even as Hiei gave that devilish turn. He seemed frazzled, which either ment progress was about to be made or she was going to be in worse trouble than she had a moment ago. Fear was, indeed, a factor now. But the rule of the game was to never let that show and she stepped down off the guard-rail/wall (whatever) just as an excuse to move, keep herself from fidgeting. She'd been up against some pretty scary guys, but never an S class demon.
Even so, it was only when a sharp pain came over her head that her attention wavored. It felt like someone'd shoved a white-hot nail through her temple and she began to blink, their little stare-down faultering on her side, until her eyes shut tight entirely and a soft palm made its way to her head. "What the...heck?" She knew this was the work of some outside force, and was 95% it that 'outside force' was that spikey-headed jerk over there. She'd never been one to have migraines, especially so suddenly. This was it; he wasn't going to help her and the latter of her two little predictions was the road he was turning on. Her mind was screaming at her to get ready and she forced her eyes open. But it was kind of hard to do ANYTHING when you felt like your head was about to detinate! Stupid demon.
Ambrie yelped and shrank down against the wall when grabbed her. "B*st*rd!" she thought, her hands instinctivly clinging to his wrist as she looked up - yes up - at his too-close face with blue orbs shimmering with fear, but she snarled back at him all the same. At least her headache was gone.
”I will help you, but I take the object.”
Ambrie's snarl loosened, and she just looked at him, questioningly. "He can read minds." She realized. That's where her sudden migraine had come from. "That little!--I mean..." She stopped herself, not knowing if he was still in her head. This was going to suck.
She growled when his grip tightened and she pressed herself harder against the wall, shutting her eyes, hating him. As if he was taking anything; she'd have to start laying out a few stratagies. She had thought she would have plenty of time to do that once they were on their way, but she hadn't counted on being escorted by a freaking brain ninja so things would be a little trickier now. She looked up at him with scorching eyes as he stated that last word and, after a moment, she nodded. She didn't trust her voice. OOC:// New thread? Or keep going here?
