It had been a very busy day. Sen couldn’t remember ever moving this much all at once. He was so proud of himself though. The whole say he had kept up with Roka and he was so happy that he had. The entire day the little demon had followed his new human companion to a fro wherever Roka found it fit to go. The best part was the whole while Sen had to jog to keep up with him. This made the little boy happy and it also set his rock collection clattering against each other all day long. But now it was getting dark and the little ball of energy that seemed to be burning endlessly had just about run out. He was weaving as he jogged behind the bigger figure and bit by bit his pace was slowing. Sen’s eyes kept on closing then opening again. Eventually they stayed closed and he weaved right in to a tree. “OWWW”

He didn't know what to make of his situation. In most cases he would be the happiest man alive with what he did today. There was so much money in his pockets he didn't know what he was going to blow it off on first! Typically there was no smart spending for him. Just purge it all and live as a poor man till the next paycheck. It made things a little more demanding and leaves out the option of becoming lazy.
But this time, he... earned a little more. The demon slayer was still wondering if he made the right choice, letting the demon live. After all it was a demon... But it was a child as well. That just made him angry, which he turned to multiple times today. Perhaps he should have saved some of that alcohol.
Roka's electric yellow eyes turned back to the desert boy behind him. He was about to yell at the kid to pick it up when he saw the kid suddenly swerve. "What the he-" he didn't need to complete his sentence when there was a thud.
The kid... ran... into... a TREE. Roka couldn't help but slap his palm to his face. This was really how it was going to go. "I thought you would know you can't go through solid objects," Roka said snottily. "Now, come on."

Sen sniffled for a few seconds as his face sting from walking in to the tree. He turned away from the tree and back toward Roka. He rubbed his face and sniffed a couple more time. “I didn’t know it was there.” He half whined this to Roka. He started to jog once again and completely missed the fact that there was a tree root on the ground. The little demon rushed forward being eager to please his new… for lack of better word friend, and when he had just got up to his regular pace his foot caught on the root and he flew forward in to the ground. He let out a small cry of pain as her completely hit the ground with a small thud. To make matter worse the small pack he had, worked its way open and several of his rocks tumbled out, hit him in the head and then fell to the ground. “Rocks!” Quickly the small demon started to scramble around picking up his stones. As frantic as he was to secure his collection safely he didn’t notice where he was going and the tree that had so far cause his two other accidents loomed up in front of him. “Ha! I found you!” He picked up the last rock and went to straighten up. This was when he jammed his horn straight in to the tree trunk.

If things couldn't get worse... Well they just did. So he better not think that line again or else it's going to start raining. Not that he minded the rain really, unless he was... Great, now he was thinking of it. Things already are getting worse.
This time he didn't dare look back at the child. Once he did, something bad was going to happen. It was a bad omen. Because he can't kill it, every time he looked at it something bad was going to happen.
Thud
Nope, that idea didn't work out. Roka stopped when Sen fell and slowly turned back around. Instead of helping the kid collect the rocks again, he only watched. This was really putting him behind schedule... Only problem is, he wasn't on a schedule so what was behind?
If this kid was just pretending to be completely defenseless... well he completely won Roka over (which had been done a long time ago). As he watched the demon pick up the last of his rocks he watched as the horn embedded itself into the tree. Now he knew he never wanted to be hit by it. His hand gravitated to his face once more. Slowly his fingers went into his hair. What did he do to deserve this?
Roka walked over to him and grabbed for his shirt. With no warning or caution he would yanked back till the horn came out.

Sen et himself be pulled from the tree. He sniffed again then her let out a small sob that quickly turned in to a hiccup. The tan skinned little demon hiccupped several more times. It was a small kind of small squeak that shook his whole body. “what” squeak “what’s happening!” squeak squeak squeak. Sen sounded like he was panicking; he had never had the hiccups before so her thought there was something wrong. “I” squeak “Broked!” Squeak. He let out a small wail. ”I Broked!” He flailed in Roka’s hold as he tried to figure out how to fix himself, all the while he kept squeaking.

How more pathedic could this child get? Even a small case of hiccups scared the boy. No human would ever be frightened of this. If Roka wasn't sure that this boy was no threat... he was now. Which he already thought that during the past incident.
"You are not broken..." Roka grumbled dropping the boy. He was careful not to drop him in such a way that would spill the rocks again. "I can't believe you haven't had hiccups before..." The lump in his pocket was perhaps the only reason he hadn't broken down and yelled at the kid. He wad still in a rather decent mood despite everything that has gone on. "Hold your breath as long as you can..."
As he did this Roka looked around to find thicket off of any animal or man-made trail. "Before you cause any more issues... We are going to bed..." The demon hunter said. "Or at least you are..."

"Ok" squeak. Sen smiled glad to be getting to bed. He was exhausted. Without wasting any time he took a very deep and very loud breath letting his cheeks puff out as he held the air in. He was still smiling broadly now that he knew he wasn’t broken and trusted that holding his breath would fix things since Roka said that it would. He followed Roka while still holding his breath wanting to weird squeaking to go away and wanting to do as Roka told him. His rocks continue to clack away in his little bag as he trotted again temporarily more awake as he ran and held his breath.

He shook his head at the boy before returning his search back to find a place to camp. The sad part about today is he wasn't exactly sure if he wanted it to end. All things considered, today was a pretty good day. But everything he did today was going to bite him tomorrow, well at least the kid will.
It didn't take long for the demon slayer to find a place to make camp. He gathered a few sticks and started a tiny fire and then sat down. "Rest kid," he said looking out to the path they came from.

When Roka told him to rest Sen sat where he was and pulled his bag in front of him. The little tan demon was still holding his breath as he pulled open his pack and started fishing through his clothes and around his rock box to find what he was looking for. After all if they were sleeping he was going to need it. Finally at the bottom of the bag he found it and pulled it out giving it a big hug. The Item Sen was now holding was an old stuffed bear. It was mostly deflated looking and no two parts of it were made of the same colored material but the boy held it to him as if it was the most valuable thing in the world. He let out his breath finally and waited then grinned when the squeaking didn’t resume. “I unbroked!” He said happily then held the bear out for Roka to see. “This is Bear Bear.” He said with a smile. “Bear Bear this is Roka.” He was smiling again.

How long was the night going to be? Out in the wilderness it was unsafe to sleep. There was always something that wanted him dead whether animal or demon. There were also times when a stupid human tries to mug him, but that's not even worth counting. He still didn't trust the kid, but he got himself pretty drunk the night before and nothing happened. Either way, he wasn't going to get as much rest as he normally did.
Thank the true deities he didn't count how long the child held his breath. Roka gave the kid a small glare when he exhaled. Did he seriously hold it that long? That was when he actively took notice to what Sen was doing. The slayer looked at the malformed bear and smiled for a fraction of a second. "Just sleep," he ordered. When was his test going to come true? Would he seriously have to wait years or will it happen in the next month or two?

Sen pulled Bear Bear back close to him and tried to settle down on the ground. He looked like he was comfortable there for a moment and then turned over. He turned again and curled up in a ball then he stretched out again but gave a small shiver and curled right back up. Sen let out a small whimper and hugged the Bear tighter. “Roka.” He said in a half whine. “It’s cold.” It was also getting dark and the little boy was starting to get afraid. He was not going to say that though. He didn’t like the dark but he was trying to be brave so that Roka would let him stay. He rubbed one large pink eye and gave a small yawn.

Every time the child moved his eyes shifted toward him. He was use to being alone so any noise attracted his attention. The chances that there is something near by that would mess with them is unlikely. But he wasn't going to get caught off guard. Roka was finally to the point where he wouldn't look in the child's direction when he moved when he spoke.
"Get closer to the fire then," Roka said sharply. He picked up a few of the twigs he collected and put them on the fire to make it a little bigger. It still wasn't even close to the size of a standard camp fire.

The little demon gave a small whine and scooted close to the fire. He then resumed trying to get comfortable and after a couple of minutes he sat back up. “Roooooookaaaaaaa. The ground is really hard by the fire.” He sniffled and rubbed his eyes again. “I can’t get comfy.” He hugged his bear closer and looked up at Roka with wide and slightly watery eyes.

This child was going to be the death of him. No, this demon, there was no way he was going to view it as anything else. This was an experiment... That pathetic demon was going to one day turn evil and attack innocent humans.
When the child whined again Roka let out a long sigh. He then turned to him... That demon was definitely cute... "What do you want me to do about it?" the demon hunter said harshly disguising his thoughts completely.

Sen gave a little sniffle again. “Blanket? “ He asked. Surely the human who was supposed to be more fragile than demons would need one to keep warm since Sen did. If there was a blanket he could sleep on the comfy part of the ground without getting too cold. Bear Bear was cold to after all and they usually cuddled under Sen’s blanket together to keep warm. “Blanket always helps.” He said it still looking at Roka with those wide eyes.
