The Test of Morals [sen]

[Roka]

Great now he wanted to come along. Why couldn't he just keep his mouth shut around the kid. As a second thought, maybe that was a good idea. If he was lucky he might be able to drive the child away by ignoring him completely. But as the psychic thought about this there was a guilty feeling growing inside of him.

He was just a demon! Why should he care about some child of a demon! "You are not coming with me!" The slayer said strongly. "I am going into a human town. Everything about you cries out something not human." Perhaps he shouldn't have said this yet... Because if the child could hide the demon characteristics, then he would be in even a worse mood.

[Sen]

"what do you mean?" Sen tilted his head to the side. "What about me wouldn't look like a human?" The little boy actually had no idea what most humans looked like. He was figuring it was like demons and they were all very different.

"I don't look to different from you..... I have two legs and two eyes and all that kind of stuff..."

[Roka]

This kid was as clueless about humans as humans are about demons. Now that was something that baffled him. But then, he didn't know very many human like demons. For the most part, the more human the demon is the harder they were. It was only recently that he had been able to face the more difficult ones that have made their home in Human World. Granted there were some that were weak that had human forms, but not many.

"You are much different then me and I am considered weird to most humans," he said rather flatly. He wasn't going to get too worked up over the situation. After all, the child just doesn't know. Just like he knows little about how everything works in the modern age. He had grown up in a feudalistic village that knew nothing of cars or of the like. "The horn and the tail are what is the most unhuman about you. Next would be the eyes, then the hair. Oh and your ears are somewhere in there."

[Sen]

Sen was still stareing. "Aren't all humans diffent looking?" THe little boy touched his horn and tugged his tail. There was nothing he could do to fix them.

"Couldn't I just cover it all?" After all that seemed easy he coudl cover the stuff and no one would see it.

"Except my eyes! Then I couldn't see!" His grin broke out again. He was in such a good mood.

[Roka]

Well of course humans are different. Just not as different. Well that is what he thought, not what he said. He could already see the kid making a come back about his rocks. For him, all of them were just rocks but to him they all had unique properties that make them different. Well, that wasn't exactly the same thing, but close enough.

"Yes, just not as different," was Roka's rather lame reply. It would take him a lot longer then he wished to describe what humans were. What didn't help was that he was quiet a hypocrite on all counts of being a human. He had gray hair and yellow eyes, couldn't get much different then that and still be human. Though, he heard that the great Genkai had pink hair and was no taller then a child. Not the point.

Could he just cover all the demon qualities... He might look rather silly, but not many would question it. As he thought about it the child's comment about the eyes made him burst out laughing. He had to admit, that was really funny. In fact, he couldn't stop laughing, all he could hear was the high pitch voice saying the line over and over again.

[Sen]

"Oh I see....." Sen's face dropped but then the man was laughing?

Sen looked up at Roka and his smile grew again. Aparently what he had said was funny. "But it's true! I wouldn't be able to see." The little boy was also confused as to why this was funny but at least he seemed to be in a good mood now.

[Roka]

What was so funny about that line? In fact, he was now laughing so hard that he had to stop walking. If it wasn't for the fact that he was stronger then most humans he might be trying to gasp for air by now.

"No you can't!" he laughed making a reference to his first line of 'Oh I see...' He tried to catch some of his breath before laughing a little bit more. But when the kid spoke again, he started laughing again. "Stop..." he said though he was still laughing.

[Sen]

"Oh." Sen's face dropped again. He didn't want to get seperated from Roka already. He wanted to stay by the humans side. Sen didn't like beign alone. It was how he had been most of his life and he as hopeing that maybe now Iyashii was gone that could change.

"So I have to stay somewhere and wait?" His mournful eyes were on Roka's face as he examined the laughing human. He still had no idea what was so funny. But at least he didn't seem to be so angry anymore.

[Roka]

Now he that he wasn't laughing so hard he could actually start thinking again. The demon slayer was hunched over with both hands on his knees panting for breath with a smile on his face. His smile quickly was fading as he regained what his current situation was.

There was a demon child following him around. He was suppose to kill demons on sight, and yet he was letting this child travel with him. Sure, he was going to use the innocent little child to prove his point. But did that make him any better then the demons? He shook the thought out of his head. There was no way he was going to convince himself out of this by thinking he was no worse then a demon.

"You will be killed on sight if you are caught," Roka said without much concern of how the child would feel about how he worded it. "And either you will be sold to a circus or be hunted down if humans found you." Again, why hasn't he done the second?

Wait... The circus... That wasn't such a bad idea... A light bulb just lit up above Roka's head, and the fact that he had this idea wasn't being hidden.

[Sen]

"Killed? but I didn't ever do anything to anyone else!" He protested in alarm at hearing that. Sen sniffed a bit as he tried not to cry again.

It wasn't untill he only caught half of what Roka was saying that he stopped feeling sad.

"Circus! we're going to a circus?' He asked. Since Sen hadn't been paying attention to that part of what Roak had said, the little boy was now looking quite cheerful.

[Roka]

Because of his idea he forgot completely of the boy, well for a moment.

We're going to a circus?

"Wait what? No..." The slayer was serious for a moment before smiling. He was too quickly getting into a good mood from his previous bad one.

He hurried infront of the boy and squatted before him. "We're going to be the circus. If we look weird enough... It should be fine!" It was such a bad idea. He had a reputation to keep up but one little stunt wasn't going to hurt. Besides, he didn't know when he was going to be able to ditch the boy.

[Sen]

"Raelly!" The little boy was more than excited now. "You mean it? What do we do? Do we get to wear funny clothes?"

Sen was likeing this human more and more. HE was a lot nicer than his father and even though he was a littel grumpy sometimes he hadn't hurt the little demon yet. And he thought Sen's rocks were cool! No one had ever said anything nice about his rocks before!

[Roka]

Well that made the boy quiet excited. He would think about whether that was a good thing or not later. He gave a small chuckle about the boy talking about his close. "Your clothes are funny as it is to humans." Even he was funny, but because it was a kimono, it didn't create too many stares. They just think he's cosplaying as some anime character.

"What we really need is an act... What could we do if someone stops us..." He snickered again. This might be a great idea. If they were good enough they might even get paid. With what they were selling already he could retire early!
